Matteo and Marta founded rehub in 2022 embodying the union of Murano’s glassmaking heritage and cutting-edge innovation.

Matteo Silverio is a Venetian architect and researcher with expertise in computational design and digital fabrication, combines design and technology to craft a more sustainable future.

His career has spanned prestigious collaborations, including roles at CRA (Carlo Ratti Associati), where he managed multimillion-dollar projects for international clients like Capitaland, Emaar, Cisco, Poste Italiane, and Unicredit. Leading multidisciplinary teams and cultivating client relationships, Matteo’s exposure to the MIT Senseable City Lab inspired his passion for groundbreaking research and visionary innovation.

In Murano, Matteo has seamlessly merged traditional glass heritage with cutting-edge technologies. His creations have been showcased in prestigious venues such as the Corning Museum of Glass in New York and Mint Gallery in London, and featured in numerous international publications. A highlight of his career includes having a research project selected for the ADI Design Index 2017.

Matteo’s work in Murano spans design consultancy, innovation strategy, and artistic direction, where he focuses on bridging the island’s rich glassmaking heritage with contemporary challenges.

Additionally, he shares his expertise as a lecturer at IUAV University of Venice, the European Institute of Design (IED), Istituto Marangoni, LABA Rovereto and IAAC Barcelona, emphasizing computational design, digital fabrication, and sustainability.

Marta Donà, with a degree in communication and journalism and a deep-rooted family history in Murano’s glass industry, made a crucial contribution in building Rehub’s foundational collaborations and fostering its early growth. Though no longer operationally involved, Marta’s vision and dedication to bridging heritage with modernity remain integral to Rehub’s ethos.

Today, rehub is a multidisciplinary team made by people with different background but a shared goal: creating a zero-waste society.

It stands as a testament to the transformative power of combining tradition and innovation, proving that sustainability and artistry can thrive together.
